Piqua-based Hartzell Industries Inc. is adding space, workers and equipment as well as breaking into new geographic markets. The nearly 300-employee company — which includes three divisions: Hartzell Air Movement, Hartzell Hardwoods, and Arkansas Face Veneer — already hired 90 people in the past 15 months, a mix of new workers and replacements.
Jeff Bannister, CEO of Hartzell Industries, began planning for the flurry of activity when the family-owned company brought him aboard last summer.

Ground Breaking PhotosHartzell Air Movement broke ground on a construction project that will allow the production of fans with centrifugal wheel widths of up to 89” in all materials of construction. This project, known as the High Bay Project, will add 30,000 sq. ft. of high technology industrial manufacturing space to Hartzell’s Piqua operations and will feature a 23-foot under hook crane height and a new 30’ x 30’ sand blast room. In addition, the new manufacturing space will provide four additional 10 ton cranes for the movement of very large fans.

Mark Allen, a five-year Hartzell Air Movement employee, was featured on the WDTN Dayton local news on Thursday, February 9. Hartzell is currently sponsoring Mark as a student in the Manufacturing 101 program at the Upper Valley Career Center in Piqua, Ohio. See Mark's interview.

Hartzell is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Steimle as the new President for the Hartzell Air Movement business. He joins Hartzell after more than thirteen years in the air moving industry. Sean will manage Hartzell Air Movement and report to Jeff Bannister, Hartzell CEO.

Hartzell recently announced that Tom Gustafson was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in the Air Movement Division. Tom will report to the President and will also continue to manage Quality and Product Management.
